Why large positions matter
- Supply concentration: one wallet depositing a huge slice of a reserve can later withdraw and lift utilization.
- Borrow concentration: one wallet's debt can dominate a thin asset's borrow side.
- Large withdrawals: available liquidity gap.
- Large borrows: new leverage and rate pressure.
How do I investigate a $20M USDC borrow?
1Find the print
Open Whales. Look for Borrow and USDC near that size. Or Live Activity filter Borrow.
2Open the transaction
Confirm it succeeded, which pool, and whether other events sat in the same hash.
3Open the wallet
Read Health Factor, collateral mix, and borrowed USDC. A $20M borrow against $21M volatile collateral is a different story from $20M against $60M stables.
4Open the USDC reserve on that chain
Did utilization and borrow APY sit already high? Caps?
5Watch the tape
